CamOffloader — Privacy Policy

CamOffloader is an Android app that moves photos and videos from your phone’s internal storage to a USB drive you connect, to free up space between camera takes.

The short version

CamOffloader does not collect, transmit, sell, or share any personal data. The app has no internet access and no analytics. Everything it does happens entirely on your device.

What the app accesses, and why

• Photos and videos (READ_MEDIA_IMAGES, READ_MEDIA_VIDEO, READ_EXTERNAL_STORAGE) — to find completed camera files in DCIM/Camera/ and copy them to the USB drive you choose. Files are read locally and written to your USB destination, then the on-device copy is deleted only after the copy is verified. The app never uploads your media anywhere.
• A USB/SAF destination folder you pick — the app only writes to the folder you explicitly grant it via the Android system folder picker.
• Notifications (POST_NOTIFICATIONS) — to show transfer progress and any errors.
• Run at startup (RECEIVE_BOOT_COMPLETED) and foreground service — so watching can resume after a reboot and continue while you keep shooting.
• Battery optimization exemption (REQUEST_IGNORE_BATTERY_OPTIMIZATIONS) — optional, to keep transfers reliable in the background.

What the app does NOT do

• No internet connection — the app does not request the INTERNET permission.
• No data is sent to us or any third party.
• No advertising, tracking, or analytics SDKs.
• No account, login, or personal information is required or collected.

Your media stays yours

CamOffloader only moves files between your phone and your USB drive at your direction. We never see your files and have no servers that could receive them.
